Digital Food Thermometer (JR-1)

A pen-style probe thermometer with HOLD and MAX/MIN keys for core temperatures.

The Kitchenary Kart Digital Food Thermometer (JR-1) has a 5.9-inch (about 15 cm) steel probe that goes into the centre of a chicken breast, a pot of dal or a tray of rice, with the figure shown on a small LCD in the handle. The range printed on the unit runs from -50°C to 300°C.

Press HOLD to freeze the number before pulling it out of the steam, and use MAX/MIN to review the highest and lowest values from a check. A protective cover slips over the spike when it goes back into a drawer or chef's pocket.

Care & Use: Wipe the probe with sanitiser or a hot soapy cloth before and after every use, and between raw and cooked foods. Keep the handle and display out of water, never dunk the body, and replace the LR44 cell when the digits fade.
